Are you there summer? It’s me, Kristin.
The last 2 days here in Anchorage have been absolutely gorgeous. Everything is turning green, the sun is shining, and the temperature has hovered right around 72 degrees. Not a whole lot to complain about, if you ask me!
Getting back into my usual routine, I was up early this morning in order to make it to the gym by 6am. The 6-7am “wake up call” class was a good one — lots of legs, shoulders, and arms that left me fairly worn out for the 7-8am cross training class.
In the cross training class, we started off on the treadmill with some jogging and sprinting to warm up. We then moved onto some quick circuits where we each took turns with the rope while every once else did a variety of lunges, squats, and frog jumps (yikes! more legs!).
After a several rounds of that, we went down stairs and set up a pretty vicious circuit. We did 45 seconds each of squats, kettle bell swings, mountain climbers, dead lifts, and shoulder presses — 5 rounds total!
It was brutal!! The run yesterday left me tired and sore so today’s workout was extra rough for me but, you know what, I was so glad to be back in my gym again!
With school being out for the summer, my coaching schedule has changed to morning/afternoon time — which is great! As I mentioned, the weather was spectacular so lunch was spent outside on the porch:
Fresh salad and some study time!
This has been and will continue to be a very busy and hectic week for me so I really haven’t had the opportunity to spend time outside in the sun. Fingers crossed that the weather holds out so that I get a chance to really enjoy it.
