Miss Social Butterfly

Hello friends!

If you have been reading for a while, you probably know that I am very much a home-body.  I would take a night in on the recliner in front of the TV over a night out any day.  First and foremost, I just enjoy being in my comfy clothes, making dinner, and futzing around the house.  Secondly, going out always ends up costing more money (and more calories) than I would like.

There are times, though, when being social just has to happen.  Please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love being with my friends — I adore them and would do anything for them.

I’m not sure how it happened, but we managed to schedule (including last nights impromptu dinner) 3 nights in a row of going out and getting stuff done!  I am such a social butterfly!

Workout — 3.20.2013

This mornings workout started out on the treadmill.  I feel as if I have been slacking on the mileage these last few weeks, so I put my headphones in, tuned to The Today Show and ran a steady 3 miles.

After I was done on the treadmill, I completed these three, quick AMRAP workouts inspired by this workout by Jen at Peanut Butter Runner:

For each AMRAP, you have 7 minutes to complete as many rounds as possible of the 3 exercises.  I used a 50 pound barbell for the Back Squats and Dead Lifts and a 20 pound Kettle Bell for the Kettle Bell Swings.  On a good day, I would have upped the weight on all of these exercises (hello 95 pound Dead Lift!) but I still seem to be running low on energy and stamina (for lack of a better word) so I went lighter for today’s workout.

Here are my scores:

AMRAP 1 = 2 + 25

AMRAP 2 = 2

AMRAP 3 = 3 + 5

It would appear that I was moving rather slowly, but slow or not — I was bright red and dripping with sweat by the time I was done!!

No Chiro

I was supposed to have my monthly chiropractor appointment this morning but when I arrived they had me scheduled for tomorrow morning and the doc wouldn’t be in until later in the day today.  My appointment card said I had an appointment today but apparently something went awry when they wrote me in the book.

These things happen, so I rescheduled for next Wednesday — came on back, you can hang tough until then!

Social Butterfly — Night 2

Tonight’s social activity is dinner and a movie with friends for one of our pals upcoming birthdays.  He and his family are moving away later this year, so this is going to be one of our last hurrah’s!  I’m really going to miss them.  😦

Alright, enough of this chit chat, time to get to work on this blog!
