Outside of routine

February 24, 2013

I am a very timely eater.

By that I mean, over the years I have (unbeknownst to me) laid down a fairly strict eating schedule for myself.

No really, you could set a watch by the arrival of my hunger pangs.

I guess it only makes sense — if you have been reading for a while you know that I am very much a planner, list maker, and prefer-er of routine.

As is typical while traveling away from home, my eating “routine” is all sorts of out-of-whack.  This has resulted in several episodes of shaky, sweaty, low blood sugar.  Typically hypoglycemia will hit me maybe once a week and I can almost always see it coming. The last few days, it has sneaked* up on me like a ninja cloaked in darkness.

*sneaked?  Why does that sounds so strange.

I have been doing pretty good with my food choices and have been trying to eat regularly like I do at home but crazy long days and hectic schedules have been challenging.  I will be on my way home Monday so I will be back in my normal routine in no time.

Workout 2.23.2013

We were both pretty beat up after Friday’s workout so yesterday I thought we should take it fairly easy on ourselves.  Only fairly easy, though.  We started out with 20 minutes of running/walking on the treadmill then we dove right into this circuit workout:

I wanted to keep the rep numbers low so that we could move fairly quickly from one exercise to the next.  I also didn’t want to pound our already shredded muscles too badly — mostly I just wanted to get the blood flowing and hopefully work some of that soreness out.

It seems to have worked.  Though I am still tight this morning, it is not nearly as bad as it was the day before.

Well this is where I have to sign off — I have to be downstairs in about 30 minutes I haven’t done anything this morning except write this post!  Yikes!

Have a great Sunday!
