Chilly Morning.

With all the horrendous weather we have been having lately, I haven’t made it out for a run in quite some time.  I have seen other people out there running, braving the weather and I was sort of jealous.

Yes, as ridiculous as it may sound, I get jealous when I see people running outdoors when I haven’t been for a while.

Does that ever happen to you?

Workout 9/26/2012

I decided to remedy the problem with a quick 3 mile run this morning.

Oh man, it really was cold out there (for perspective though, I am such a wimp when it comes to the cold) but I quickly warmed up.

I completed 3 miles in 27:18.  So not my fastest time, but all in all it was really a nice run.

It was great to be outdoors — the air was cool and smelled clean.  I am hoping that I get a few more runs in before it starts to snow.

Finger crossed!

Here is my after run snack.

Well, more like a second breakfast.

I heated up 1 packet of instant oatmeal and topped it with a little bit of rhubarb/raspberry syrup, 1/2 of a banana, a few raspberries and some rice milk.  It was so good!  Why I don’t have this more often is a mystery.

I have a few more articles for you to peruse if you so wish:

1)  One of my most favorite blogs is Can You Stay For Dinner.  Every time a new post pops up in my inbox I get excited to read what she is musing about.

She recently made a post titled I can’t eat that where she ruminates about the reasons we choose not to eat certain foods, how others react to those decisions and how to hopefully make it easier on those of us that are on the path of eating healthy.

If you get the chance, check out the rest of her blog.  Her story is inspiring and her writing is fun and whimsical.

2)  The other one comes from Nerd Fitness — love them — and is titled Embrace the Weird.  The author points out how being different is what is going to make us successful with our health and weight loss journeys.

Hope you enjoy those posts!
